How do I select an isotype control?

Match the IgG subclass and conjugation

Isotype controls provide an essential negative control by helping to distinguish target labeling from non-specific background. They should be matched with both the IgG subclass (e.g. IgG1, IgG2, etc.), if available, and the conjugation (e.g. PE, biotin, HRP). For example, If you are using IgG1 PE antibody, find an IgG1 and PE-conjugated isotype control.

For example:

• a Rabbit IgG antibody such as bs-2527R  would use our Rabbit IgG Isotype Control, bs-0295P

The IgG isotype controls offered by Bioss are sufficient for testing against IgG monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies.
